Play as Alexis, a nerdy, unassuming (and kinda horny) girl arriving at the Travelling Tower, a centre for magical arts and learning. Alexis dreams of becoming a professional mage, a Mancer, armed with nothing but the clothes on her back and a mental library self-taught magic to carry her!

Everything at the Tower promises to be all she's dreamed of, from its advanced facilities to its colourful staff, and most of all, being surrounded by hot humans, elves and daemons in tight magic-enhancing skinsuits! Definitely beats learning spells by yourself at home...

But before she can live out her dream magic academy life, she has to get through the Tower's rigorous initiation exam: entering the deadly Flood, a world-spanning deluge filled with monsters and untamed chaos magic, and make it out in one piece! What sort of friends and rivals will Alexis be making in this journey?

EARLY ACCESS

Mancer Visual Novel is currently in Early Access: supporters are able to experience the game's story early and follow its development. Your purchase ensures more content can be added into the game long-term, from story chapters to voice acting and UI changes.

The game's currently in Version 1.1, and covers the story from Alexis arriving at the Travelling Tower until she enters the Flood for her initiation exam.

Steam Release

After Mancer reaches a certain completion level, it will also be sold on Steam, with free Steam keys available to early supporters on itch.io once it's out.

Upcoming:

• We are using a new game engine for Mancer. As such, the UI and some of its features are currently incomplete:
  • The entire UI will be changed over time to match Mancer's visual style
  • Quicksave & Quickload not currently usable and will either be added in a future update or removed from the UI
• More portraits/outfits will be added for some characters 
• More voice acting and sound effects will be added for better immersion!
• More custom art in general

Possible Issues

• The current engine has an issue where background music doesn't loop after playing - we hope to resolve this ASAP
• The game may freeze at certain parts when skipping, usually during or after dialogue choices. To resolve this, reboot the game from an earlier save just before the choice, then manually complete the choice before skipping again.
• Some parts of the engine and UI are not in English:
  • The Save/Load menu, however saving and loading works just fine so don't worry
  • The game quit menu: simply click the green button to quit the game once prompted

FAQ

How does Mancer connect to Project WAND?

Mancer is a "soft reboot" of the Project WAND timeline and universe. Project WAND was always made as a prototype for us to explore different characters and games, figuring out a lot of it along the way. Now with several visual novels under our belt, we want to start fresh and tackle our world again with a better eye for its world and characters, while keeping its familiar spice for its existing fanbase.

Will other Project WAND characters be returning?

Yes, more classic Project WAND characters will be slowly added to the story, albeit with slightly revised backstories or details about them.

Will there be NSFW content?

Currently, Mancer has some lewd/fanservicey content. Over time we want to add NSFW scenes at certain optional story points, but the primary focus on this game will be its story and cast & we'll marketing it to a wider audience. We want Mancer to be a sexy game to play, not necessarily a sex game, if that makes sense! Think of it as a more story-driven version of Project WAND.
